On September 16, the 6th China Satellite Navigation and Location Services Annual Conference, themed “Beyond Satellite Navigation—Sharing Space and Earth Information,” and the inaugural International Expo on Satellite Applications kicked off with great fanfare at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Center Gymnasium. Shenzhen Sike Microelectronics Co., Ltd. made a stunning debut at this year’s conference and, during the concurrent exhibition, showcased its cutting-edge R&D products and solutions under three major systems: “CDRadio Digital Broadcasting,” “Precise Positioning,” and “Indoor Time Synchronization.”
Recently, SiKai Microelectronics was awarded the “First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Satellite Navigation and Positioning for 2017” for its “Beidou High-Precision Data Cloud Broadcasting System Designed for Massive Users,” which attracted a large number of visitors to the exhibition. CDRadio is currently the world’s only high-tech system that uses FM radio broadcasting to transmit satellite differential data and raw message information. This integrated navigation system, born from the cross-border “technological hybridization” between CDRadio and Beidou ground-based augmentation, leverages the wide-area coverage of traditional radio broadcasting to make Beidou enhancement information as ubiquitous as air, enabling the public to enjoy free, all-weather, highly reliable, and precise positioning services.
At the exhibition, Si Kai Microelectronics showcased its base station navigation system—“Precise Positioning,” “Indoor Time Synchronization,” “Digital Broadcasting,” “Lane Guidance,” “Surveying and Mapping,” and “Smart Cities”—in the form of a broadcast television tower. Through this simple yet vivid design, visitors could intuitively grasp that when BeiDou ground-based augmentation meets CDRadio digital broadcasting, this groundbreaking technological innovation represents the most practical and accessible approach to BeiDou ground-based augmentation, perfectly suited for serving the general public.
Meanwhile, the latest high-quality CDRadio chip developed by SiKai Microelectronics also made its debut at this year’s conference. The CDRadio chip is a next-generation digital transmission channel chip capable of demodulating combined analog-digital broadcast signals. It supports BeiDou’s precise outdoor positioning and indoor timing services. This chip will significantly lower the barrier to entry for precise positioning in the mass-market BeiDou ecosystem, enabling future massive-scale users to enjoy free sub-meter-level services for mobile IoT and autonomous driving, as well as low-cost decimeter-level indoor positioning services for the general public. By laying a solid foundation, it will help create a favorable ecosystem for BeiDou applications.
At this year’s conference, the high-quality, independently developed products and technological solutions showcased by SiKai Microelectronics amazed the entire audience.
